4 Daily Habits For a Simple and Tidy Bedroom
For most of us, our outer world affects our inner calm, this is why it’s important to have a space in our home where we can go to find rest and relaxation. But maybe your master bedroom doesn’t feel tidy, calm or peaceful; maybe it feels cluttered and messy.
Today I’m sharing 4 daily habits that help me maintain a tidy, simplified bedroom. I’ve noticed that when I procrastinate doing these small tasks each day, the mess or clutter just grows and becomes more overwhelming and time consuming. But by taking a few minutes each day to focus on these 4 habits, it’s much easier to maintain a clean and orderly room without investing a lot of my time or effort.

1. MAKE YOUR BED EVERY MORNING
This simple habit sets the entire tone of your room, making it feel messy or clean. A neatly made bed will motivate you to straighten up the rest of your room, while a messy, unmade bed gives you silent permission to leave the rest of your room a mess… because what’s the point? 2. REMOVE THE EXCESS
Next remove anything that doesn’t belong in your bedroom or that causes you to feel stressed. Clutter tells our brains that our work is never done, so if your bedroom is filled with clutter, you’ll probably have a hard time relaxing in there.
Think about when you go to stay at a hotel or Airbnb, it feels inviting and relaxing because there isn’t any clutter or excess that makes your brain feel as if you need to clean it up. There aren’t toys strewn about, stacks of bills laying on the desk, workout gear on the floor, or an array of miscellaneous objects scattered around the room.
Guard your bedroom and don’t let it become the storage place for all the random household things that end up finding their way in there. Take a few minutes each day to remove all those things that just don’t belong.
3. CLEAR YOUR SURFACES
Next, focus on clearing off any clutter-ish, unnecessary items on the dressers, nightstands, and desk. Decide exactly what objects you love and want to display or keep on these surfaces and then remove anything else so that the surfaces are clear. Don’t overdo the decor in your bedroom, just keep things minimal… a few books, a plant, maybe a special picture. Flat surfaces constantly attract clutter … extra change, old receipts, jewelry, cups etc.. so be intentional about keeping these flat surfaces cleared off and clutter free. Just clearing off surfaces goes a long way in making a room feel clean, simple, and calm.

4. PUT CLOTHES AND SHOES AWAY DAILY
Make it a habit every day to put your clothes and shoes away. It just takes a few minutes to put your pajamas back in a drawer, stick you shoes in the closet, or drop your dirty clothes in the laundry basket. And the payoff you get from having a clean and picked up room is well worth the effort.
Tiny Tip : Don’t procrastinate the small daily tasks. Procrastination causes all the little things to pile up and become big, overwhelming things.
