Small but Stylish Bathroom Renovations

We have two bathrooms in our house… one for the kids and one for Tim and I. Both bathrooms are fairly small, which I like because I hate cleaning big bathrooms. We had a very large bathroom in our Alabama house with a double vanity, water closet, garden tub, and a separate shower and it was just too much work to keep clean. Plus, we just didn’t need that much space in a bathroom. So ever since then, I’ve wanted small but stylish bathrooms with just the basics. Less is more; but quality is important!

My vision for these bathrooms was minimal, modern, coastal, and rustic. Think, California Casual. I used lots of white tile (of course!), clean lines, and natural elements (like wood vanities) to accomplish this look. I also wanted both bathrooms to feel similar and have a cohesive look, but not be exactly the same. Since they’re both on the small size, we were able to splurge more on some of the individual elements by investing in quality items that served both form and function well. I branched out some and took risks with wall-mounted faucets, which I’ve always wanted to do, but never done before. I’m really happy with how well both bathrooms turned out.

Both bathrooms were completely gutted down to the studs. We also expanded the master bathroom by a few feet so that we would have room for a full size shower.
